MANA Past Projects & Initiatives

Healthy Marriages Initative
Stable, healthy marriages are the foundation of a Muslim community. 50% of Muslim marriages end in divorce and only a few imams are trained in counseling. We've enlisted local communities to make healthy marriage a priority and created the Healthy Marriage Initiative to offer guidelines for pre-martial counseling, family counseling, spousal abuse, etc. We've conducted training programs for Pre-Marital and Marital Counseling in conjunction with other organziations.

Community Re-Entry Program Introduction
1 in 3 African American males are under supervision of corrections. Almost half of the formerly incarcerated return to prison. Conversion to Islam in prisons is high. 15% of prison population is Muslim. Recidivism rate for Muslims is only slightly lower than non-Muslims.

SHARE Centers
SHARE Centers are the vehicle for implementing MANA’s community activism agenda. It is a social service and advocacy center that serves the needs of the Muslim community and its neighborhoods by offering a referral services for job training, employment, housing, mental healthy programs, counseling, etc, as well as direct services such as temporary housing, counseling, employment, job training and advocating for the poor and needy

Dawah
Dawah is an obligation. Conversions in many cities is decreasing and few masjids have new Muslim programs. As a result, many new reverts leave Islam. MANA has developed models and materials for presenting the message of Islam that can be implemented by local communities .
